St. Enda’s - Limerick 13 Killorglin Community College won their 1st under 16 basketball tournament in Limerick, when they defeated St. Enda’s, Limerick on Thursday (30/11/06). The Killorglin lads were quick out of the blocks and took control of the game with scores from Daniel Walsh (2) Maurice O’Shea (2) Kieran Doona (2) Kian Griffin (4) they led 10-4 at the interval. It was in the 3rd quarter that the Kerry side really made their move and with Killorglin’s best player Daniel Walsh lording the boards in defence and controlling the pace of the game they led going into the last quarter 18-7 with scores from Griffin (4) O’Shea (2) and Walsh (2) All that had to be done in the last quarter was to play down the clock and this they did in style with a final score from Patrick Sheahan and Killorglan ran out comfortable winners 25-13 Overall this was a great team performance by the boys from the Kingdom. Top scorer was Kian Griffin (12pts) and Daniel Walsh (6pts) was the M.V.P. |
