Munster Semi-Final
Our football girls travelled to Killarney on Monday to play Killarney Community College in a Munster Semi Final. The teams had last met in December, with Killorglin CC only winning by a single point, in what was a very competitive game.
Killorglin CC started strong this time round with Killarney CC girls unlucky in front of goals at times. Our defence put in a massive performance in the first half and with scores from Sophia, Lori, Katelyn and Kayleigh, Killorglin CC had a 2:9 to 0:1 lead at half time.
Despite the score line the girls from Killarney CC were not ready to give up and put in an impressive display in the second half. With a few early scores at the start of the second half their confidence grew and they were quickly closing out the lead Killorglin CC had held at half time.
Killorglin CC fought hard in the last 15 minutes to keep their leads but scores were harder to come across in this half against a determined Killarney CC team. Scores from Lauren Costello and Leanne Griffin in the last few minutes of the game helped Killorglin CC over the line.
It finished Killorglin CC 4:10, Killarney CC 3:7. It certainly was a game of two halves, and credit to the Killarney girls who outscored us well in the second half and fought so hard to the end.
Fortunately for our girls there first half display and the lead they built up allowed us to hold on for the victory.

Killorglin CC now progress to the final, opponents and date to be confirmed.
