Unlocking Global Opportunities – One Journey at a Time

At Killorglin Community College, learning goes far beyond the classroom — and often far beyond Ireland. As an accredited Erasmus+ school, we are proud to offer students life-changing opportunities to travel, collaborate, and grow through international exchanges funded by the European Union.

What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is the EU’s flagship programme for education, training, and youth development. It enables students and staff to take part in:

  • Cultural exchanges

  • Civic and environmental projects

  • Workshops on democracy, sustainability, media, and inclusion

All while travelling across Europe and connecting with students from other cultures.

What Do Our Students Experience?

Students at KCC have already taken part in Erasmus+ projects across 19 European countries — from Portugal and Spain in the west, through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria at the heart of Europe, to Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece in the south, and as far north and east as the Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

These projects have given our students opportunities to:

  • Host and visit European peers

  • Explore new cities and cultures

  • Participate in interactive workshops

  • Build skills in communication, leadership, and global citizenship

  • Form lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories

Why It Matters

Erasmus+ is more than just travel — it’s about:

  • Gaining confidence and independence

  • Experiencing new ways of thinking and living

  • Becoming more open-minded and culturally aware

  • Learning to lead, adapt, and collaborate in a global world

Our students return inspired, empowered, and ready to see the world — and themselves — in new ways.

What’s Next?

With Erasmus+ accreditation secured until 2027, our journey continues. Current projects are already underway in Austria, Finland, Spain, and the Netherlands, with new partnerships being developed to widen the opportunities even further.

Our aim is simple: to make the world feel smaller and our students’ futures feel bigger.

More European Adventures

At Killorglin Community College, global learning doesn’t stop with Erasmus+. We also create unforgettable cultural trips that bring classroom learning to life through travel, discovery, and shared experiences.

  • Junior Cycle – From the canals of Amsterdam to the history of Belfast, our tours combine fun, friendship, and hands-on learning.

  • Senior Cycle – Our Spanish adventures immerse students in language, art, and culture, exploring vibrant markets, world-class museums, and historic sites under the sun.

Every journey helps our students grow in confidence, deepen their learning, and create memories that last a lifetime.
