School Crest & History

Our School Crest

Our school crest is a powerful reflection of our identity, values, and local heritage. Each element has been carefully chosen to represent who we are and what we stand for:

  • Stars – Represent our five core school values and our Erasmus+ programme.
  • Colours – Reflect the five Houses of our Pantheon House System.
  • The MacGillycuddy Reeks – Symbolise the ambition and growth of every student.
  • Bridge – Represents the strong bonds we build within our school and community.
  • Crown Shape – Formed by the bridge and mountains, it reflects our pride in the Kingdom of Kerry and its heritage.

Our History

Located in the heart of Mid-Kerry, Killorglin Community College has been serving the local community for over 40 years. We are deeply rooted in a tradition of community partnership, academic integrity, and inclusive education.

With strong ties to local families, organisations, and employers, our school has always been about more than just academic results — it’s a place of connection, opportunity, and aspiration. Today, we continue to grow with new facilities, innovative programmes, and a commitment to preparing students for life in a rapidly changing world.
