In the academic year of 2020/2021, twenty-seven teachers of Killorglin Community College volunteered as Check and Connect mentors. Some of the twenty-seven mentored more than one mentee. Check and Connect is an adult mentoring programme whereby One Good Adult impacts positively on the lives of young people. Young people who had the support of One Good Adult were are connected to others, more self-confident, future looking and better able to cope with difficulties that arise. The Check and Connect voluntary mentoring programme also aims to promote student engagement at school and with learning. It is implemented by an adult - "one good adult', who is a combination of mentor and advocate.
