Curriculum-Based Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our curriculum is enriched by trips, workshops, and activities that deepen understanding and connect classroom learning with the wider world.

• Geography Fieldwork – including studies at Rossbeigh Beach, the National Parks, and other sites of geographical interest.

• History Trips – visits to local museums, heritage centres, and political sites that bring the past into focus.

• Science Exhibitions – participation in BT Young Scientist, SciFest, and applied STEM learning days.

• Art Gallery Visits – Junior and Senior Cycle students engage with live exhibitions in Cork and beyond.

• Literature & Theatre Trips – performances and productions linked to English texts, when available.

• Junior Cycle & JCSP Links – co-curricular experiences often complement CBAs and programme supports.

• Fresh Film Festival – TY students create and screen original short films.

• Annual Variety Show – a dazzling celebration of music, drama, and student performance.

• Creative Competitions – opportunities in photography, visual art, writing, and design that showcase student talent.

• Music Generation Kerry – TY workshops to explore musical creativity and self-expression.

Innovation, Citizenship & Sustainability

• Young Social Innovators (YSI) – tackling social issues through action and creativity.
