Mission Statement & Ethos

Mission Statement

Killorglin Community College is a co-educational, multi-denominational, inclusive post-primary school. As an inclusive school, we welcome all students into a friendly, caring, and supportive environment. We value and seek to promote courtesy, loyalty, learning, and responsibility. We recognise that each young person is unique and has different strengths, talents, and needs.

In partnership with parents, we create a happy, positive community in which students feel accepted, are part of, and are given every opportunity to achieve to their fullest potential.

We view education not just as imparting knowledge and skills, but also as providing for the holistic development of our students—enabling them to grow emotionally, socially, academically, creatively, and physically.

We help students to understand themselves and others better. We nurture a positive self-image in students, which enhances their self-confidence. Self-confidence, in turn, paves the royal road to achieving one’s fullest potential.

Therefore, we provide a well-balanced educational programme, empowering all our students with the knowledge, skills, understanding, and attitudes that enable them to grow into mature, responsible, well-rounded individuals—capable of living fulfilling, purposeful lives and of making a worthwhile contribution to society.
