School Uniform

The Killorglin Community College uniform is a symbol of pride, unity, and belonging. It helps foster a sense of identity, equality, and mutual respect across our school community. We ask all students to wear the full uniform correctly and respectfully at all times, as outlined in our Code of Behaviour.

What Is Required:

The official school uniform consists of the following items:

  • Green round-neck jumper with the KCC crest
  • White shirt
  • Pleated, knee-length green and grey checked skirtorPlain grey full-length straight-leg trousers
  • Black tights or plain black socks
  • Plain black shoes
  • Black school jacket with the KCC crest
    • No other jacket, hoodie, or outerwear is permitted in class.
    • This jacket is available to order online from MFC Sports.
    • A order link is sent out periodically depending on demand.

All other uniform items are available locally at The Place of Clothing, The Square, Killorglin.

Additional Uniform Expectations:

  • Footwear must be plain black, with no coloured soles or logos.
  • Jewellery must be discreet: one small stud in each ear is permitted; facial piercings are not allowed.
  • Hair should be neat and clean.
  • Make-up must be subtle and age-appropriate.

PE Days:

Killorglin Community College does not have a designated PE uniform. However, students must bring appropriate PE gear on the day of their Physical Education class. This includes:

  • Clean, modest, and suitable sportswear
  • Sports runners/trainers

Students are expected to arrive to school in full uniform and will change into their PE gear in the school’s sports facilities for class. They must change back into uniform immediately afterwards. Students should bring their gear each week as part of their preparation and organisation.

Notes for Parents/Guardians:

  • A written note is required if your young person cannot wear part of the uniform on a given day.
  • Repeated breaches of the uniform policy may result in sanctions in line with the school’s Code of Behaviour.
  • Students are expected to take responsibility for maintaining their uniform in good condition and for bringing PE gear when required.
