Your Future: College, Careers & Community

At Killorglin Community College, we prepare our students not only for exams but for life after school. Through strong partnerships with universities, local industries, and community organisations, our young people build the confidence, skills, and networks they need to take their next steps.

College & University Access

We open doors to higher education and future study by connecting students with colleges and universities.

  • UCC Access+ Programme – after-school tuition, Easter School on the UCC campus, and HEAR/DARE support workshops.

  • STEM Passport for Inclusion – in partnership with Maynooth, MTU, and Microsoft, providing girls with a Level 6 Certificate in Digital Skills and 50 bonus CAO points for STEM courses.

  • Music Generation Kerry – TY workshops to explore musical creativity and self-expression.

Local Industry & Career Links

Our students benefit from real-world experiences with leading local and national employers.

  • Cara Credit UnionCU Through Your Interview programme: interview skills, CV writing, and communication workshops.

  • Fexco – enterprise projects, career talks, and mentoring.

  • Liebherr Engineering Week – on-site workshops introducing engineering and innovation careers.

  • Astellas Ireland – science and STEM career insights.

  • Bank of Ireland Money Smarts – financial education, budgeting skills, and money confidence.

  • Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) – entrepreneurship, workplace readiness, and business mentoring.

Community Partnerships

We are proud to be rooted in our local community and committed to building connections that support both learning and wellbeing.

  • Kerry Community Youth Services (KCYS) – peer mentoring programmes and primary transfer supports.

  • Tech & Tea – an intergenerational IT project where TY students teach older adults digital skills, in collaboration with Women’s 2000 and Men’s Shed.

  • St Vincent de Paul Youth Engagement – opportunities for volunteering, fundraising, and local outreach.

Through these partnerships, Killorglin Community College students learn by doing, give back to their community, and step confidently towards their future.
